Introduction
The broadcasters have started to take advantage of the DVB broadcasts by adding program information, multiple language and subtitle options and even interactive services to their channels. However, the network operators need to re-configure and synchronize their service information (PSI/SI tables) so that their systems would work correctly and the end-users could use the services. At the same time, operators should manage the tables systematically to minimize the re-configuration work and enable set-top manufacturers to update their boxes through their broadcasting network.
Broadcast Manager is a complete service information (PSI/SI), Electronic Program Guide (EPG) and Set-top box Software Update (SSU) management tool. It eliminates routine table monitoring and re-configuration work, raises the quality of the network output and makes sure that there are no surprises with the services.
Modules
- Network Module helps operators to manage all their network associated tables centrally and to eliminate their routine re-configuration work
- Event Module enables operators to offer dynamic EPG program information for their subscribers automatically
- Service Module verifies that language tracks, subtitles and scrambled channels in the network function at all times
- Application Module verifies that the set-top boxes can run all the broadcasted MHP applications and that they all work together
- Bootload Module enables Set-top box Software Updates (SSU) through the broadcasting network
